TAA5412-Q1: Unused Pin Settings

Hi team,

My customer have question for unused pin settings. Could you support please?

1. GP pin
If the GP pin is not in use, is it OK to "Open" in the default setting?

GPI1A [IN] = (default) Pin disabled → 「Open」
GPI2A [IN] = (default) Pin disabled → 「Open」
GPO1A [OUT] = (default) Pin disabled → 「Open」
GPIO1[IN/OUT] =(default) Interrupt output (IRQ) → 「Open」

2. Mic pin

What should they do with the unused Mic input pin?
They only use 1 input, how to deal with the other pin. (IN1P,IN1M or IN2P,IN2M)

For example, which diagram in the datasheet connection is better?

3.  VBATIN

If the VBATIN pin is not used, is this pin "open"?

4. DIN

If the DIN pin is not used (no input signal to the IC), is "GND connection" OK?

  • HI,

    - GPIO/GPI pins can be left unconnected and in the default register state

    - Unused analog input pins should be AC coupled to gnd. A 0.47uF cap to GND is okay here.

    - Input configuration is dependent on application. From a performance perspective, an AC coupled differential signal utilizing the integrated MICBIAS will have the best noise performance and common mode rejection.

    - VBATIN is a refernce voltage used solely for input/output fault diagnostics. This can be left floating is unused, however I would recommend utlizing to take full advantage of device features

    - You can leave DIN floating if unused. I recommend connecting a line to the host with a series NC resistor for troubleshooting the DAC path in the future.
