PCM9211EVM-U: Unable to connect to the PCM9211EVM-U evaluation board

Part Number: PCM9211EVM-U

Tool/software:

Hi,

I'm trying to connect to the PCM9211EVM-U board and can see in the description that i should be able to connect by having CodecControl open and connecting to my PC with usb.

It should be the correct CodecControl software:

in the description it is as follows:

1.3 Getting Started To get started with the PCM9211EVM, perform the following steps:

Step 1. Install the CodecControl software (see Chapter 2)

Step 2. Launch the CodecControl software.

Step 3. Plug a digital audio source into the coaxial S/PDIF input (J5).

Step 4. Plug a analog audio source (line level) into the analog input (J2). Step

5. Connect the EVM to the PC via a mini USB-B to USB-A cable. The CodecControl software automatically detects the EVM and runs an initialization script, which then configures the PCM9211EVM for audio recording through the coaxial S/PDIF input

The USB is recognized as an: USB-miniEVM inside the audio selection.

Diodes: 1,2 and 4 are on

Why is it not connecting with CodecControl when i follow the step guide ?

  • Hello,

CodectControl has compatibility issue. please try it with both WIN11 and 10. I believe WIN10 should work fine.

I am out of office and will follow up with you on  Monday . Thanks for your patience.

    Regards.

  • I Have connected the PCM9211EVM_U Board to a computer running on Windows 10 Business and are still unable to connect with CodecControl

It give an error message that "690.0 is not a valid floating point value"

    Any solution for this ?

  • Sometimes this error can happen when you install the software on a Windows OS that is not set to the correct  region  or your decimal symbol and grouping symbol are incorrect. i.e, instead of  "." you might have "," or vice versa. Please verify that and if you still have an issue I have to check with software team.
