It should not break the device but it would trigger short circuit which changes the amplifier outputs to high-z so this is not a valid configuration. Regardless though the modulation scheme for this amplifier I believe also makes this an invalid use case as this amp was design for BTL configuration. Essentially there would always be some signal on the speaker as the outputs switch at about the same duty cycle during idle. If only one output is connected, the differential signal is no longer ~0.
