PCM1681-Q1: Device selection for DAC

Part Number: PCM1681-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAD5112-Q1, TAD5212-Q1, PCM4104, TLV320AIC3104-Q1

Tool/software:

Hi team

I am the FAE from China MM team, some small questions about selection:

My customer Momenta is developing their own ADAS domain control SOC, and they are selecting peripheral audio equipment, and bid to car OEM

The requirement is I2S&TDM

They hope there will be more hardware control and less software configuration, which will make it easier to use. I found PCM1681-Q1, but I don't know if it is the best choice.

In addition, if the device you promote could be accessed with EVM, that will be better~ Thanks

  • Hello Jerry,

There are  couple of automotive grade  hardware control multi channel  DACs we have, namely PCM1681-Q1  and the other one is PCM1691-Q1 . The newer (top of the line products)  such as TAD5112-Q1 or TAD5212-Q1 are  also TDM capable and we have EVM for them,  but they are  not HW control .

We have PCM4104 ( a 4 channel DAC) as well but it is not automotive grade.

TLV320AIC3104-Q1 is another automotive grade device with TDM capability but it is a CODEC ( it has both DAC and ADC)

We do not have EVM for the older DACs that I mentioned above but for the newer ones  we have EVM.

Let me know if you  have any questions,

    Regards,

    Arash
