Hi, Tara,
Why? Are they looking for additional features not available with the TAS1020B?

The customer will be doing a re-design. With this part NRND i'm wondering what we should promote instead.
Thanks, Tara
Tara,
It's fine for them to keep using it. We have NO plans to obsolete it or anything...
NRND is not OBSOLETE or EOL (End of Life) of the TAS3 products. Customers can still purchase the devices and EVM products as usual. Right now we don’t have plan to obsolete them. If we do sometime in the future, we will follow the TI standard procedure. Customers will have sufficient time to make transitions.
If your customer is happy with the part, go ahead and have them keep on using it.
IMHO, we really don't have a close replacement for this part. The product folder points to http://www.ti.com/product/tms320c5533 which, at 1k is actually cheaper than the TAS1020B, but it seems like a little bit over kill to me.
I just noticed this is in the audio converter forum. Let me move it to the Audio forum.

Wow, the little dev kit is $55! I just ordered one.
