Is my tas5705 toasted?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS5705, TAS5727After working perfectly for weeks my TAS5705 evm suddenly stopped producing sound. Simply connecting 3.3v and gnd makes the chip really hot when putting my finger on it. When the problems first began everything but sound worked ok, i.e ^fault = 1, all expected responses on i2c, master volume, etc. But after a while nothing works, ^fault = 0 and temperature is enough to make me retract my finger. Is it toast?
