TAS6684Q1EVM: Not connecting to PPC 3

When you plug in the USB connector to the device and PC, do you get a blue LED light to show it is connected?

Hi Scott,

The blue LED light comes on after the 3.3V connector is powered up.

I have installed PPC3 on 4 laptops without any luck

Do you have any other EVM could quickly have a try? Want to understand if the problem related with the board itself, or other things.

Previously have seen some situation, that USB wire has some problem, or PC have some conflict with PPC3. 

If only related with the board itself, usually the XMOS have some damage. But it shouldn't be since you just received a new one.

I am working at the moment with multiple EVM boards from TI, and they are working fine.

So, I can say USB cables, USB ports and Laptops are working fine. I have installed PPC3 on 5 different Laptops with OS Win10 and Win11, but I get the same results.

Please let me know if I can try something else.

Sounds really bad news.

To help you quickly let TAS6684 EVM working, have a try with below set up. Use wire jump I2C and I2S from other EVM onto TAS6684 board. And you'll able to still use TAS6684 PPC3 to control it.

I just tried your setup but still no getting anything out of the TAS6684. I am running out of time with this EVM.

In that case, I think you never used Audio amp, or CODEC related EVM. They all used same driver, and PPC3 software.

Thanks for that but I already tried that few times with different laptops and still nothing.

What I tried today, I pulled out the I2C cables from my TAS6684 design and connected them to the EVM and I have no response from this.

I definitely think this EVM came faulty and now I quite behind the schedule in my project by trying different things with this EVM.

Is there any warranty team that I can reach out about this?

Is the blue LED on when you connect it to USB? The Device manager shouldn't show any errors if everything is set up properly. If you write to all the device addresses on I2C are they all showing failures?

Also this is the updated audio driver, make sure in device manager the old one is uninstalled from the device and reconnect the USB cable after you reboot when this corrected audio driver is installed TIAudioDriver_5F00_4.59.zip
