Has any one found out what the AVCC pin draws for max current?  Also does anyone know what output current is available from VREG? I couldn't find these specs in the data sheet.

  • Mark,

This pin is very low current draw, on the order of a few mA.

VREG is not to be used to drive external circuitry...

  • Thanks for the quick response. A few mA of current draw on pin AVCC is great. About VREG: I did read the data sheet espectially about not driving external circuitry with VREG. I want to use VREG for activating the MUTE and SHDN# pins on the 3106. They are not listed in the suggested pins that can be driven by VREG. I also noticed that the current draw on MUTE and SHDN# are on the order of 100uA where as the other pins (gain0, gain1 and SYNC are on the order of 1uA. To me the MUTE and SHDN# pins are not external circuitry but they are also not listed in the data sheet as pins that can be driven by VREG. So I want to know can VREG drive the 100uA or so per pin for these 2 pins? This is why I asked the question about the output current available from the VREG pin.
