DRV135: Driving multiple balanced line inputs

Hello. I am working on an audio installation, and I want to send balanced audio signal to 6 devices, which each have INA1650 line receivers. Please see the schematic.

My questions:

  1. Do you think it would be ok to connect all 6 devices in a chain like this?
  2. Would it also work if I have to work with unbalanced cables, essentially shorting the (-) side of all the cables to ground.

  • Hi Benjamin, 

    Because you are using AC coupling I am not seeing an issue with your proposal. I ran two daisy chained but I can't see an issue with adding more. Since they are all DC isolated from each other. I have run two simulations as shown below with differential balanced inputs and also an unbalanced single ended input with the inverting terminal grounded. The DC bias potentials look good and I am able to pass signals with expected results as well. I have included my Tina Ti simulation to the bottom of this post.
