PUREPATH-CMBEVM: No Audio Output from TAS5720A‑Q1EVM when used with PurePath‑CMBEVM

Hello TI Audio Forum,

I am working with a **TAS5720A‑Q1EVM** connected to a **PurePath‑CMBEVM** and the system is powered via 12 V and ground. The PPCMB is connected to my PC over USB. I installed **PurePath Console 1**, and selected the TAS5760xx EVM target (per TI documentation).

However, I am not hearing any audio output—even when:
• Playback is enabled and audio plays through Windows 
• A load speaker (4–8 Ω) is connected to OUT_A/OUT_B  

Steps already verified:
• Board shows under Windows as USB Audio Device  
• GUI launched PurePath Console and selected TAS5760xx EVM  
• Tried multiple USB cables and ports  
• Speaker confirmed functional

Could someone please advise:
• Do I need a specific TAS5720A-Q1 configuration script (I2C init)?  
• Are there required modifications to PurePath Console for TAS5720A-Q1EVM recognition?  
• Is there a pin-level test sequence (TP pins) I should capture via oscilloscope?

    We can not find a Spec for the motherboard. Only for the amp-board. Therefore we can not validate anything. We see with our oszi, that there is no data on SDIN though we tried with all possible sources...

    Hi Dominik

    A little strange for your situation, as I checked that default settings should be no problem for you to use USB PLAY audio.

    Just double check if PPC already choose USB as audio input, also unmute SPK as below picture.

    If still no sound from speaker, most likely some fault been triggered by TAS5720. Use oscilloscope to test at the output inductor side. Before LC filter, there would be 50% duty cycle PWM.
