Hi Team,

We are planning to use the TLV320AIC3107IRSBR codec in our application.

In EVM schematics, we noticed that three different grounds are used: AGND, DGND, and SPKR_GND.

Could you please clarify the following:

Are all these grounds shorted or star-grounded on the EVM board?
Is it necessary to maintain separate ground planes for AGND, DGND, and SPKR_GND in our design?

Hello,

It is recommended by the datasheet to maintain separate ground planes to minimize noise and interference, and is designed this way on the EVM.

Hello Sneha,

After looking more into this, it seems that separate ground planes is no longer preferred, but rather to route the analog and digital signals separately on the board.
