Hi Teams,

My customer is looking for an audio amp which could fulfill the function below and the spec, I was wondering if team could help suggest a suitable suggestion on this? One audio amp that could have the loopback monitoring function like the part highlighted in green.

Spec:

Number of speakers 1pcs

Output power 3W

Sound pressure 75 dB(A) or more

(1 kHz sine wave, measured at a distance of 1 m from the center of the screen), Amplify with an audio amplifier if necessary.

Connection method Harness wiring from CPU BD to our designated speaker module

I/F Analog output (single-ended or differential)

Hi Liang,

You can use an amplifier with IV-Sense to run a speaker check.

If I-Sense data is 0 during playback, it means speaker connection is open.
Amplifier Overcurrent protection can be used to determine if speaker connection is shorted.
Devices such as TAS2562 have a load diagnostic feature, you can refer to data sheet section 8.4.6: TAS2562 6.1-W Boosted Class-D Audio Amplifier with IV Sense datasheet (Rev. A)

Hi Liang,

As you mentioned about TAS2559, do you need a DSP inside the amp for audio processing? Besides the TAS2562 mentioned by Ivan, we also have TAS2563 which has TAS2562 functions plus DSP inside for audio processing features like EQ, DRC, PBE to enhance the SPL level by tuning method to meet your SPL requirement. You may choose based on your final requirement. Thanks.

Hi Liang,

Usually TAS2559 is paired with TAS2560 for driving stereo speaker solutions, TAS2563 may be a good choice for you.
