TAC5111: Is there a way to eliminate echoes

Part Number: TAC5111

Tool/software:

Dear Experts:

When I increase the gain of the codec via below command,   there will be echoes. Is there a way to eliminate echoes in codec side?

amixer cset name='DAC1 Digital Playback Volume' 215

amixer cset name='ADC1 Digital Capture Volume' 205

thanks

  • Hi Yuan,

The echo is happening because both DAC and ADC gain are very high.

Our codecs cannot eliminate echo. The echo must be removed by an algorithm on a host or SoC. The TAC5111 can output the echo reference signal to give to the host to help with the algorithm, but the TAC5111 cannot remove echo on its own.

    Best regards,

    Jeff McPherson
