Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPA3116D2
Tool/software:
In one of our projects, we are using the TAS6421-Q1 audio amplifier. With the designed audio file, we were able to achieve the desired power levels (+105 dB(A)). However, despite all adjustments made in the audio file, we could not achieve the desired sound tone.
For comparison, we tested a circuit using Texas’s TPA3116D2 amplifier and were able to obtain the sound tone we were looking for. While the desired tone is a deeper and fuller sound, with TAS6421 we hear a more treble-like sound. Unfortunately, the customer does not approve of this sound.
Test Conditions:
-
Supply voltage: 13V (same for both circuits)
-
Speakers: 2 Ohm and 4 Ohm (same issue with both)
-
Sound characteristics: horn sound consisting of 400–500 Hz harmonics
I am also sharing the schematic file of TAS6421-Q1 in the attachment.
I hope I was able to explain the issue clearly. We kindly ask for your support on this matter, or if possible, to direct us to the right person who can assist.
Thank you in advance, and best regards.
