Hello,
I designed in PCM1794A-Q1 DAC into our application lately. and I have question:
What is better way to simply program DAC output through I/V converter to DC voltage from PCM1794A-Q1?
Thank you,
ken

Hello Ken,
For this family of devices you should send the IOUT to a resistor to convert the current output to Voltage and then to second stage for filtering & conversion of of differential to single ended, if desired.
The value of this resistor , along with the full current output of the DAC is the max voltage that will be available at the output before going to the filter and DIFF-to-SE stage. To keep things simple I would use a gain of one for the next stage (Filter and Diff to SE) .
You can read the detail of the I/V and filter sections for current DACs in the following app note.

Hi Arash,
Thank you for quick response.
Unfortunately, I have not designed DIFF-to-SE in my application board. So, looks like I have to keep sending constant data stream to get DC voltage.
By using this technique, do you have any particular suggestions?
Thank you,
ken
Hi Ken,
For complementary signals I always use diff to SE, Keep in mind the voltage swing ( based on 750Ohm resistor) is b/w –7.575 V and –1.725V for IOUT+ and IOUT- (Figure 24. Relationship Between Digital Input and Analog Output).
