OPA2132: Request for Part Marking Code Interpretation – OPA2132U

Part Number: OPA2132

Tool/software:

We purchased the TI part “OPA2132U”. We have observed top markings including “OPA2132U” (and additional characters “29C2Y0”) on units.

Could you kindly provide:

  1. Confirmation of the standard marking for this part (i.e. what exactly will be printed on the device for identification).
  2. Interpretation of the additional marking characters: lot trace code, date code, factory code, environmental or RoHS category codes, etc.
  3. If available, the internal documentation (or a legend/guide) that specifies how to decode those additional identification marks.

    Hi Christine,

    1. The marking for the OPA2132U device that you received can be found below. X indicates the internal TI codes - in your scenario it would be "29C2Y0".

    Line 1: BB OPA
    Line 2: 2132U X
    Line 3: XXXXXX
    Line 4: O (Pin 1 Indicator)

    Please note that the marking has since been standardized, the details of which can be found here.

    2. To find information about the particular lot, you can look at the shipping label that you device came in. It should indicate the RoHS categories, MSL levels, etc.

    3.The additional character markings are internal TI standards that allow us to trace the specific device back to individual lots.
