"Ducker" circuit.

I just heard this term "ducker" circuit and I am told that is what I am looking for.   I am working with an automotive intercom headset system and I am looking to introduce emergency radio traffic into the system but I want the primary audio to drop to very low  or 0  during emergency radio reception.  I also plan on introducing low level audio for background music.

Here is what I know:

2 additional audio inputs into the intercom system. 1 priority - 1 background

I have 8 volts DC to run the circuit.

very low operating current

The IC needs to be in a DIP design

It needs to be as small as possible but yet I can still solder...

I apologize if this is the wrong forum for this question. I figured if anyone could guide me to the correct chip (s), it would be the chip manufacturer.

Thank you,
