Can the Master Clock (MCKI) and DSP clock use different clock sources which are not phase linked?
MCKI will be 12.8MHz from a low power, low jitter MEMs oscillator.
The DSP will communicate with the PCM4220 via I2S. The DSP has its own 25.6MHz MEMs oscillator.
The eval card has a d-type flip-flop to divide the clock but I am concerned this will not meet the 40ps jitter requirement.
I am not keen on using a programmable PLL because the final clock solution needs to be simple, no configuration and low power.
Will clocks from two different sources be acceptable for the ADC noise floor?
Will the conversion pick up artefacts due to clocks from different sources?
