PCM1822: Corrupted/Odd serial output

Part Number: PCM1822

Sirs:

I have designed a schematic and PCB that uses the PCM1822 as an i2s input to the ADAU1701 DSP. However, it is not working as expected.

When I examine the PCM1822 signals, I see the FSYNC/LRCLK and BCLK operating as I would expect. However, the SDOUT pin shows what appears to be a 0.8V partial data frame embedded into a roughly 50 Hz 3.3V square wave.

For what it's worth, the DSP is functioning entirely as expected, and the power supplies other DC connections to the PCM1822 seem to be completely clean.

Might you help me to understand just what I have done wrong.

I've attached the schematic. If needed, I can send the layout.

Thank you for any thoughts you might offer.
