Hi team,
Why is there only a 2dB difference in dynamic range between single-ended and differential inputs with the PCM1809, yet a 6dB difference at the output?
How is this calculated?
Best Regards,
Ryu.

Hi Ryu,
This device does not differentiate between differential and single-ended signals - there is no single-ended "mode". Thus, the single-ended performance measurements are taken with the input scaled by 6dB to 0dBFS - the same full-scale as differential. This is mentioned on page 8 of the datasheet. However, the differential dynamic range is still slightly higher as differential signals are better for noise rejection than single-ended.
