Part Number: TAS5431-Q1
I am attempting to use a TPA5431Q1 in my product. I have duplicated the output side of the chip from the evm. i am entering the fault mode after power application. i have the same decoupling of PVDD used in the evm. decoding the status register (0x08) indicates 'overcurrent shutdown'. The out_p and out_n are connected to the coupled 22uH choke with same phasing as the evm. downstream from the coupled inductor, i have 3.3uF and 10nF caps to ground on both leads. the 4 ohm loudspeaker voice coil is connected to the junction of the coupled inductor and the 3.3uF caps.
the second register(0x20) indicates 'shorted load is present'.
i have bugged the circuit and find no shorts. i don't have the same choke due to distributor availability. i am using a coilcraft coupled inductor p/n MSD1514-223MED.
pvdd is set to 15volts.
what is the self test sequence looking for as a pass/fail criteria.
is there anything that comes to mind? is making decision that requires precision with the lc filter.
by lowering pvdd to 8volts, it intermittently works.
thanks
