PCM4204: Noise and 8ch chip check

Part Number: PCM4204
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PCMD3180

Hi TIer

My client is currently looking for an EEG ADC for medical products and his noise requirement is 0.95uVpp. I would like to confirm what the noise Vpp of the PCM4204 is, and if we have an 8 channel product recommendation that meets the needs, thank you

  • Hi Tony,

Our only 8 channel device (PCMD3180) only supports PDM inputs (digital mics). So if analog inputs are a requirement, this will not work.

As for the noise requirement, PCM4204 has a dynamic range of 118dB, whereas for a 0.95uVpp you would need 136dB (assuming a differential input, full-scale is 6Vpp).

In either case, we do not have a recommendation to meet these needs.

    Best,

    Garret
