TLV320DAC3100: HP output de-pop function

Part Number: TLV320DAC3100

Hello ,
Our customer is facing issue of pop noise from HP output during Power up the HP driver.
There is recommend FW code on the datasheet as below.
>(c) Program headphone-specific de-pop settings (in case headphone driver is used)
># # De-pop, Power on = 800 ms, Step time = 4 ms
>w 30 21 4E

We tried to apply this setting to get additional time constant for ramping up COM voltage.
How ever we couldn't get this behavior as attached waveform.

Here are questions,  Should we set registers other than  w 30 21 4E to get ramp up time constant ?
Is there anything else care about to realize HP out de-popping?

Regards,
Mochizuki
  • Hi Mochizui-san,

Thursday and Friday are holidays for our team in the U.S. please expect a delayed response. We will get back to you on Monday.

    Thank you,

  • Hi Mochizui-san,

Register Register 33 (0x21) is the only one that affect the pop noise and it should work, however please note that it register is in Page 1. So I would think the reason it is not working for you is that you are changing the value in register 33 (0x21) in page 0 not 1.

    w 30 00 01  ########### page 1 is selected

    w 30 21 4E

    w 30 00 00  ###########  change the page back to page 0

Let me know if this is not the case and we can dig in more into the issue.

    Regards,
