PCM2912: Pre production schematic review

Hi Team,

Posting on behalf of our customer.

We are designing an aprs module that will work as bridge between an RS485 bus and a HAM radio. Our request is for you to review the schematic before production to ensure that we deliver the maximum capabilities of your product (PCM2912).

Usecase: An ATSAMD51P20A will communicate with the PCM2912 over RS485 and will be used to send and receive text encoded as an audio signal though a HAM radio (UV-5R)

Our customer will share the design files offline.

Hi Danilo,

We will take a look at the schematic and provide feedback offline once it is received, but please keep in mind PCM2912 is not recommended for new designs, and instead should use the PCM2912A, which is an updated version of this device.

Hi Vladimir,

My only feedback is that R1 is connected on the other side of R8 from our recommended application diagram. I am not sure how much this would affect performance, if at all, but wanted to point it out.

One more question, will, the current configuration fit our needs to control the pcm 2912 over rs485 from an mcu, are there any specific requirements for the software

Hi Vladimir,

I am not extremely familiar with the RS485 protocol, but it is not useful here as the PCM2912A is a hardware-controlled device.
