Can the TMUX4051 IC be used to switch audio signals? Are there any design considerations or precautions required to ensure it is suitable for audio signal switching applications?

    While the TMUX4051 has a higher Ron (70Ω), it may still be suitable depending on your audio quality requirements and system impedances. However, this Ron can cause signal loss through voltage divider effects.

    Overall, the TMUX4051 is a passive multiplexer that can function in audio applications, but its specifications may not be optimal compared to our dedicated audio devices like the TMUX2889 or TS5A22364, which feature much lower Ron values (typically <0.1-5Ω) and are specifically designed for high-quality audio signal routing with minimal distortion and noise.
