TL972: Minimum ICC value

Part Number: TL972

Hi team,

I measured the quiescent current at 5V for several devices.
Significant lot-to-lot variation was observed.
While both fall within the datasheet range, the differences are substantial. Is there a minimum value specified as a reference?
Also, the datasheet lists values at 2.5V. Are values available at 5V?
Regarding the recent PCN marking change, the internal circuitry hasn't changed, correct?
Since values changed before and after the PCN, we'd like to confirm this just to be sure.

Best Regards,
Ryu.

  • Hi Ryu,

As part of Ti's effort to move parts to our 300mm fab, the TL972 has a new design and is a completely different die than what was at the old fab. The new device performance should meet or exceed that of the old device. The Iq is lower for the new device. Because there is inventory at suppliers around the world during the transition it is possible to obtain either the old device or the new device when ordering the TL972. For this reason the datasheet was only updated if a specification/s were worse than the old device otherwise they were kept the same. This is the reason you are seeing Iq variations between lot to lot.
