Hi. I want to start designing the TAS6754-Q1 amplifier into a new product. I have searched for the Linux drivers but I cannot find them. How do I obtain them ?

    Thanks for the response.

    We are looking at this - so this seems to be reference source as a starting point to write out own driver? We are very confused as to why you don't have a driver for your part. Can you explain why this is the case?

    Then, the datasheet is here:

    This references a register map but there is no register map in the datasheet

    "For a complete list and description of all I2C controls, see the Register Maps section."

    Can you please explain why there is no register map and how we are able to implement a driver without this?

    TAS6754-Q1 has the register map outlined in the Technical Reference Manual which would be in the product folder once you get approval. However would recommend you evaluate the TAS67524-Q1 as its the latest device in the 1-L portfolio with best EMI performance.

    We want to use this part for a volume product.

    You don't appear to provide what we need to be able to use the product - the software drivers.

    We don't wish to take on the time, risk, cost of trying to understand how to write the needed drivers for your product.

    Can you ask somebody to contact me to explain how we can derisk this process, as at this point in time we're looking at alternatives.

    You suggest we use the TAS67524-Q1, which I would really like to do, but you have no Linux driver and there is no stock available. We are on a project that has a very tight timescale. We need to be prototyping in 3 weeks and running our first 500 pcs production in 8 wks. The TAS67524-Q1 is just one part of a much more complex design. We don't have 8 wks to just concentrate on writing a driver for this one chip. I don't think that I can even obtain sample quantities. The annual quantities for this part are approximately 12K pcs. Can you suggest how we can move forward with this part ?

    The TAS6754-Q1 has 103K pcs available but no Linux driver.

    I'm not sure how TI expect that we can design with these parts ?

    Do TI expect every customer to write their own Linux drivers for these two parts ? That really doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

    Most of the I2C configurations scripts for this device can be generated with PPC3 and the generic driver Shadow provided can be modified with the PPC3 generated sequence. We can support questions in the development of the driver but we don't have one we can provide at this time.
