TAS5805M: TAS5805M technolog issue for speaker

Part Number: TAS5805M

Hi,

Can the TAS5805MPWP detect whether a speaker is plugged in and report the event accordingly?

If the PVDD connected to PA is powered down, does the 5805 need to be reinitialized?

Is there a way to keep PA from being initialized when PVDD is powered down? Thanks.
  • Hello,

No the TAS5805M does not have the ability to check for open load conditions.

As outlined in the datasheet, to start up the device both DVDD and PVDD should be applied to the device. If all that is needed is communication to the digital side of the device, only DVDD is required and PDN must not be asserted as outlined in this E2E post. The device should keep it's I2C setting when PVDD is brought down.

    Regards,
