Hi team,

I have two questions.

First, is it okay to connect the TAD5142 and TPA6133A2 as shown below? Additionally, please let me know if there are any precautions I should take when using this connection method.

Second, I would like to provide ESD protection for the output of the TPA6133A2. Do you have any recommended devices or methods for this?

1. Feasibility of the Connection
The connection between TAD5142 and TPA6133A2 is feasible provided the following conditions are met:
◦ Electrical parameter matching (output level, gain, load capability).
◦ Signal integrity (proper routing, noise isolation).
◦ Adequate power supply decoupling.
Key points to verify:
◦ TAD5142’s output drive capability (when driving multiple TPA6133A2 loads).
◦ Input impedance matching of TPA6133A2.
◦ PCB layout to minimize noise and crosstalk.
2. ESD Protection
It is recommended to use low-capacitance TVS diodes or ESD protection arrays placed close to the output pins of TPA6133A2. This ensures robust electrostatic discharge protection while maintaining audio signal integrity.

Just to confirm, as long as we follow the points you provided, it means there is no issue connecting two TPS6133A2 devices to the TAD5142, correct?
Also, if you have any TI product part numbers with proven track records for ESD protection, please let me know. Since the headphone jack is exposed to the outside, I believe we need a withstand voltage of 8 kV or higher.

regarding the ESD component, can you raise another Thread which mainly for ESD requirement ? the system will send to related team, this maybe the faster way to get answered.

we are audio amp team. so can't guide you for ESD component properly.

it's ok to connect TAD like you mentioned. but it's required to add the input CAP like below for every chip, I think.
