TPA3106D1: auto shutdown with large input signal

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPA3106D1

Hi all pro,

I need your help on TPA3106D1 using.

I made a mono audio amplifier using TPA3106D1.

When i increase volume (input amplitude) , suddenly, the IC turn-off, (speaker off).

After i reduced volume to 0, turned off switch then turned on again, the board worked again.

The problem occur repeated during increasing volume.

Could any one help me to solve the problem ?

Thanks so much.

  • Hi Vu,

Are you using the EVM for testing? What is the test condition - Supply level, speaker load resistance, LC filter values? You could be triggering the over current protection function of the part. Usually OC may be triggered when the output fitlers are not optimized. You may refer to the class D output filter design apps note below -
