What is the basic difference between Audio converter ADC and a normal ADC ?

    Hi, Karthik,

    An audio converter is optimized to handle signals in the audio bandwidth, 20 Hz to 20 kHz (or maybe even higher with the advent of Bluray audio...).

    Audio converters include the anti-aliasing/reconstruction filters required for continuous audio digitizing and playback. Those filters are optimized for the audio band.

    Plus the converters have the very convenient I2S interface, for ease in interfacing with DSPs and various other parts.
