Testing SGI EVM

Dear All:

I just purchased a TI SGI EVM board. I am trying to setup the environment to test the board. When I ran the Metrology Demo with AIC3106 connected (S2:2 is off), the SPE EVM Demo program on PC showed some random readings.

When the AIC34 is connected (S2:2 is on), the SPE EVM Demo program on PC showed zeros on all readings. Even I connected the AC (110V) to the input E, the values on the display remained the same (i.e, all zeros).

Do I need to do anything in order to make the demo work?

By default, the Metrology demo is compiled to use AIC3106 (LINE IN on J3 connector). Please see this wiki, http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/SGI_EVM_Metrology_Demo, for more information on how to set up the SGI EVM to run the Metrology demo with an audio source.

If you would like to run the Metrology demo with voltage/current connected to the analog front end (green connectors), it'll require both hardware and software changes.

Hardware

Software

Please download the SGI EVM software package from here, http://www.ti.com/lit/zip/sprcad3. The software package contains the Metrology source code, which will need to be recompiled to match your input configuration (e.g, current transformer, rogowski coil, audio input, etc).
