Hi,
Im looking for class d options when designing an audio application. However, it seems that none of the class d amplifier is capable of handling the use case im facing.
Ideally, I would like to have a class d amplifier capable of handling 2 W at 8 ohm load, mono output speaker. The main problem I have is that the input for this class d should be analog and is coming as an balanced stereo input.
The option I found somewhat to what i want is TPA3138D2, however, this ic forces the system to use balacned stereo input and stereo output.
Also, im not really sure about the gain at this point, im using an external dac that outputs 2 Vrms, and all the class d amplifier gain are starting off from 6 dB, which means that probably I will need to reduce the input signal at the input of the class d amplifier.
Another solution that I was thinking about was to use TPA203xD1 or TPA2000D1. For the case TPA203xD1, the signal needs to be balanced mono, which force the system to have a summing op amp in between. Whereas TPA2000D1 seems to integrate this feature, however, to reach 2 W at 8 ohm, is not possible for the maximum 5.5 V voltage supply.
Any recommendations?
