Part Number: TAD5212
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMUX2889,
Is there an application note describing the short circuit detection?
The situation of interest is a stereo singled-ended capacitor (270uF) coupled output connected through a TMUX2889 to a headphone TRS jack. If a mono headphone is inserted will that trigger a output short circuit interrupt (due to ring being shorted with sleeve) with the details in OUT_CH1_LTCH at which point the MCU can reconfigure the TAD5212 for mono operation?
The OUT_CH1_LTCH register description says it's for DC fault diagnostics and I didn't seen any discussion of how the short circuit detection works so it's not clear to me if can be used to distinguish between a mono and a stereo headphone when capacitor coupling is being used.
