TAD5212: I2C command interval

Part Number: TAD5212

Hello,

Would you let us know if TAD5212 have I2C command interval restriction, ever since our customer is facing on an issue of volume control malfunctional.

Either of CH volume down issue has happened, when he set DAC_CH2A_DVOL and DAC_CH2A_FGAIN soon after setting DAC_CH1A_DVOL and DAC_CH1A_FGAIN. (not happenned every time though). And that depends on I2C command transfer interval.

best regards,

  • Hello,

As long as you follow the standard I2C bus free time (tBUF ) for your chosen I2C  speed mode and ensure the initial 2 ms post-power-up delay, you can issue back-to-back I2C commands without any additional proprietary inter-command spacing. In another word,  as long as you are complying with Timing Requirements: I2C Interface  given in datasheet you should have no problem with commands.

    Regards,
