PCM1861: CRA, Cyber Resilience Act

Part Number: PCM1861

Hello,

Our customer need to know if PCM1861 is CRA or Cyber Resilience Act subjected device, as CRA regulation is going to be activated in EU market soon.

Does anybody help our customer to see if PCM1861 is the subjected device ?

    We do not have any official guidance on this standard to my knowledge, but I doubt PCM1861 will pose an issue to CRA compliance.

    Could you introduce me the right person to talk about this issue ? though I beleive that PCM1861 will not the CRA eligible too.

    Hi Imi-san,

    Apologies, we do have official guidance on this standard. All TI hardware products are subject to Texas Instruments General Quality Guidelines, which ensures:

    "For both TI hardware and software products, TI cybersecurity support meets applicable statutory and regulatory requirements. For TI hardware products, TI’s cybersecurity support will continue until shipment of the hardware ends, unless TI announces an earlier end of cybersecurity support or cybersecurity support for a longer period is legally required. For example, TI will provide a longer support period if required by the EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA). Cybersecurity support for a software product provided by TI for use with a hardware product ends when cybersecurity support for that hardware product ends, or ends earlier where regulations permit. For example, TI will end cybersecurity support for an older version of software if a newer version meets the requirements documented in the CRA."

    In this case, PCM1861 should meet all CRA standards.

    I had got further information what CRA requests. Could you let me know following information.

    - Does Firmware activate in PCM1861 ?

    - If Firmware actiavte in PCM1861, do we support to create SBOM (Software Bill of Materials) ?
