We are currently working on an automotive audio amplifier project using the TAS6584-Q1. We are able to observe the BCLK, FSYNC, and SDIN data signals at the amplifier input, indicating that the I2S interface is active. However, we are not getting the expected sine wave output from the amplifier channels.

We have completed the amplifier configuration through I2C by referring to the device datasheet and have verified that the required clocks and audio data are present. Despite this, the amplifier output remains inactive.

Could you please assist us by providing the recommended configuration sequence and activation steps required to bring the amplifier into the playback state? Specifically, we would like to understand:

The complete initialization sequence after power-up.
Registers that must be configured to enable audio playback.
Any required state transitions (Sleep, Standby, Active, Play mode, etc.).
Required clock and TDM/I2S settings.
Any mute, fault-clear, or channel-enable configurations that must be performed before output is enabled.
Methods to verify that the device has successfully entered the active playback state.

At least should set channel into PLAY mode at register 0x03/0x04.

Yes, after power up and pull up PD/STBY pin, it's the Sleep mode by default.

Use oscilloscope to check the OUT_xP/M pins. If the channel into PLAY mode, you'll have PWM output waveform.

The I2S signals alone do not guarantee audio output. Complete the startup sequence correctly. Verify stable power supplies and RESET timing. Configure PLL and clock settings properly. Match I2S or TDM parameters exactly. Confirm sample rate detection succeeds. Clear all pending fault flags. Check for new protection faults. Enable required output channels. Disable software mute if enabled. Set appropriate output volume. Transition through Sleep, Standby, and Active states. Read back programmed registers using I2C. Verify all writes succeeded. Capture BCLK, FSYNC, SDIN, and RESET waveforms. Share status and fault registers. These checks isolate configuration or hardware issues.
