DIX9211: Using the DIX9211 for high sample rates in combination with I2S in bypass mode

Hello,
I am currently building a DA converter for a client which, in addition to a USB audio input, is to feature two SPDIF inputs and one AES3 input.
I would like to use a DIX9211PT as the receiver for the two SPDIF inputs and the AES3 input.
The MCU that converts the USB audio data stream to I2S supports data rates from 44.1 kHz to 786 kHz (PCM) and DSD 64, 128, 256 and 512.
To avoid using additional ICs to route this I2S/DSD section, I would like to route these signals via the DIX9211PT (I2S interface).
My question is: can the DIX9211PT handle these high data rates or sample rates in bypass mode?

Hello,

DIX9211 is our fastest rate device and can handle up to 216KHz, Unfortunately none of our transmitters can handle these high rates. The next one handles up to 192KHz.

Just to be sure.
Does that mean I can’t route an I2S signal from an I2S interface (input) to an I2S interface (output) in bypass mode at sample rates higher than 216 kHz?
Is that correct?

Hello Thorsten,

The bypass mode is not a simple On and off bridge to pass data from one side to the other side as we see in a typical "analog" bypass . In bypass mode the data must still pass through the device's internal digital interface logic and thus the above limitation is still true.
