Hi team,

I hope you are doing well.

  1. When only one channel of op amp in SA5532ADR is used, What are correct terminations of another op amp in SA5532ADR?
  2. Is it possible to use SA5532ADR as voltage follower circuit?
  3. May I know if we have TINA-TI model of SA5532A? My customer would like to simulate bode plots.

    Please see my responses below to your questions.

    1. If you are not wanting to use Channel 2 of the device, we recommend putting the amp in a buffer. Below is an example of how to configure the unused op amp in a single supply configuration. It is configured as a voltage follower, and the resistors are configured to ensure Vin is within the common mode range, and Vout is not limited by output swing.

    A similar configuration is also shown for dual supply.  Note that the non-inverting node is grounded to set the voltage to mid-supply.

    Overall, best practice is to put the amplifier in a known state when possible. Leaving the second amplifier pins floating puts them into an unknown state. Please also refer to this application note for more details. Please let me if you have any questions.

    2. Yes, the SA5532ADR can be configured in a voltage follower circuit. Ensure the input signal is within the common mode range of the amplifier (+/-13V typical).

    3. The SA5532ADR is a legacy device, and we unfortunately do not have a model for the customer. However, I would recommend using the TLV9362 in this application. It offers tighter specifications, and is on our newest 300mm process. We also have a model available that the customer can use for analysis. Please see the comparison of the SA5532 and TLV9362 below.

    Hello Yamamoto-san,

    I cannot model the bode plots using the SA5532ADR, but I can model it with the TLV9362. Please share the design details if this is an acceptable alternative.
