I want to build a simple RIAA preamp using a dual precision op amp such as the LM833 or LM4562. The power supply parameter Vcc-Vee is specified in the application notes as 30VDC. Should I build a supply using rails like +30V and 0V ground, or should I build a dual supply with +15V and -15V rails with a ground? The schematics further into the application notes don't often have the supply pins shown.
It seems like this would make a difference, since some RC components surrounding the chip are grounded. Does this create issues such as having DC elevated on some components or creating ground with elevation, or does it not matter? I have heard that some chips do some kind of self-centering, but I'm not sure that applies here. Thanks for any advice on the rails!
