Target TX Power Setting In PP Wireless Configurator when using Range Extender???

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2590

In Radio subsection, there is a setting for Target TX Power (excluding CC259X).

What is the role of this setting when using the range extender?

Where can we actually set the output power from the range extender e.g. CC2590?

best regards,

Esa

  • Hi Esa,

The CC2590 will amplify the signal coming from the CC85xx according to the graphs in the CC2590 datasheet http://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/cc2590.pdf. See especially output power vs input power in figure 7. In the linear region (low input power) the gain is 14.1 dB, but as the input power increases this gain will decrease somewhat, and you will see the graph is bent (non linear). In other words selecting maximum target TX power (excluding CC259X) will also give you as much output power possible from the CC2590 on the current design.
