How can I reduce electret condenser microphone (ECM) noise using the TLV320AIC3110?

I have an EC microphone connected to TLV320AIC3110 (MIC+ to MIC1LP), and I can see a big component of low frequency noise, particularly at 50Hz and 2nd harmonic, is there some filtering feature implemented on the codec that can be used to reduce these noise components?

So far I've been trying to introduce some attenuation using the PGA and AGC blocks but the noise is still too high.

    From the description it appears that you are using the a single ended connection. It could be the noise pickup/ground bounce/supply creating issues for you.

    1) Make sure that there is no ripple on the  supplies especially AVDD

    2) Try using the microphone differentially (pseudo). Make a cap coupled connection from the other end of microphone to MIC1LM and connect it to PGA M terminal by programming register P0/R49.

    3) Program the Bi-Quads available in the device selectively filter out the frequencies. (They are all pass by default)

         Thanks for the response. Yes,  the microphone current connection is single ended.

    I'll try your suggestions and come back to the forum with the results.

        Changing the microphone connection to differential made a significant improvement, and using the biquad filters has also helped in reducing the noise.

    We still don't get a completely clear signal but your recommendations have definitely helped improving the audio quality.
