Dear Sir,
I am told from datasheet that GIO can be controlled in production mode ONLY.
Is there any way to do so for controlling GPIO of CC8520 in host mode?

HI Victor,
I'm afraid that direct control / testing of GIO is only available in production mode.
In host-controlled or autonomous mode the GIO is tied to the way the device is configured using the PurePath Wireless Configurator.

Hi Victor,
Not sure if this is possible with your boards or not, but if you have access to programming the CC85xx device on the board (through a pin-header and the CC debugger tool) then you can use this PC tool we have launched for the production test:
http://e2e.ti.com/support/low_power_rf/f/382/t/182777.aspx
This allows to access everything using a PC tool with highly configurable .xml files to set up and run the test you require.
Regards,
Kjetil
