Can a headphone output from another codec be fed to TPA2050D4 input ? What are the acceptable inputs ? (HP out, Line out, Mic )

Is DVDD on TPA2050D4 strictly 1.8V or can it also be 3.3V ? I see contradictory info in he EVM user guide and the datasheet ? If its 1.8V, I will need to use an I2C level translator for the I2C bus. Please confirm.
Thanks,
Hi, Lakshmi,
The DVDD is limited to a max of 1.95V. SCL/SDA are spec'd for a max of DVDD, thus, the I2C lines must be limited below 1.95V.
If you drive the inputs with the output of a codec, I suggest you put an RC LPF between the two ICs. See the section of the d/s labeled, "OPERATION WITH DACS AND CODECS." This LPF should have a -3 dB point of around 30 kHz.

I thought 1.8V on I2C bus was typo after looking at TPS2050D4A datasheet also. Can you please check and confirm again ? Also, the absolute max specs of DVDD makes me think 1.8V spec is typo.
Thanks,
Lakshmi
Lakshmi,
I think I see the problem! If you're looking at the TPS2050D4A d/s...
Everything I see shows it to be consistently 1.8V. For example, in the terminal description table, it says:
DVDD A4 P I2C supply voltage; connect to 1.8V digital supply
The EVM has it connected to a 1.8V supply...
I think it's 1.8V!

Is TPA2054D4A an active part ? The website says its active, but its not searchable.
Thanks,
Lakshmi
Lakshmi,
It all looks fine to me. Can you try again and let me know if the search doesn't work for you?

Please do a search on ti.com for tpa2050d4a. You will not find the part. It only appears in the catalog search. Another TI engineer also found the same thing.
Lakshmi,
I'm confused. Are you trying to find TPA2050D4, TPA2054D4A, or what? Both these are active parts.
You are correct, we have no TPA2050D4A.

I was researching on both. TPA2054D4A is available. Your internet search engine has to be fixed.
