USB DAC with 96kHz, 192kHz/24bit

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PCM2706, PCM2902

Did have TI some future plans about creating USB DAC or CODEC with USB audio class 2.0 support for 96kHz and 192kHz/24bit sample frequency? I like simple chips like PCM2706 DAC with I2S support or PCM2902 CODEC. There exists some chips from Tenor or XMOS and M2Tech but they are too complicated and access to documentation is not much good. I like TI chips, but I want to create USB soundcard with I2S output for my PCM1704 based HiFi DAC.

  • Hi, Pavel,

I can't really comment on products in development, but I can tell you this is not something we are going to be releasing in the next three months...

  • Hi Don, thank you for informations. It is enough for me.

    Best regards, Pavel.

    Same for me.

TI always provide good examples and descriptions, so I am really waiting for them to release some integrated circuit for this task. Unfortunately it requires custom drivers - Win doesn't support USB Audio class 2 by default, and most of users use Windows. I would be happy even to get chip with no Windows support. Anyway I hope that this product will be released in 4 months, if not in 3 >D
