PBTL or Parallel TPA3106

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPA3116D2

Is it possible to use the output from 2 or more TPA3106 chips across the same speaker load in parallel or PBTL?

The TPA3106 are one master and many slaves (connected via SYNC pin).

  • Hi, Jim,

Sure, you can parallel up as many as you want AFTER the LC filters... Not sure what this gains you, unless you are trying to drive a 2 ohm load or something.

Also, check out the TPA3116D2. You can run it in PBTL BEFORE the LC filter (for one chip, at least), and it's ROCKING! More than 100W in PBTL. This thing is a BEAST.
