DSD1793 Audio DAC - Preferred Part?

We used the DSD1793 in a design a few years ago and it has worked well. We are now designing an upgrade to the product and are planning on using the same device. However, the DSD1793 isn't listed in the Q1 2012 Audio Guide, nor does it show up via the web Audio Selection Tool. The product page says that it is still active. Is there another part that is recommended for use in place of the DSD1793. Basic requirements are: stereo DAC, SW control, 113dB min SNR, 96kHz min sample rate.

Have you looked at the PCM179x family that can be used in DSD mode? The PCM1792 may be one example.

Thank you for the response. The PCM1796 would meet our requirements. However, it takes about 25% more power than the DSD1793, and is slightly more expensive, but has better performance. Is there a particular reason not to use the DSD1793? btw, our application does not use the DSD format.

Steve,

There is no reason to avoid the DSD1793. Also, you may want to look at the PCM5122 (112dB SNR, SW controlled, advanced current segment DAC with integrated PLL and 2.1Vrms line driver). The d/s should be available soon.
