Codec for Intel High Definition (HD) Audio Interface

Please direct me to TI solutions that support the Intel HD Audio Interface.

  • And that are catalog Products :-)

  • TI does not have a HDA codec.

The HDA codec is not just about the digital interface but also mandates/defines items like which register bit controls which function etc.
Purely from the interface, the data and control is shared over a common 4-wire interface which runs at a fixed clock rate. There are time slots defined which hold control and various other audio data.

Codecs with I2S for data and SPI/I2C offer lot of flexibility in terms of what features they support, how they support, clock rates, data rates etc.

HDA codecs are standardized however, typical HDA codecs today also consume lot more power than a standard I2S codec.

Unfortunately if you work with most of the older generation Intel processors and have a Windows OS, you need to have a HDA compliant codec.
