 i'm new on this forum. Found some interesting information about digital amplifying in this thread. However, I wonder  How to extend the input board with more toslink Ports
and eventually less analog ports ? It's not only a physical problem, I quess, but also a matter of programming the board, i fear.

    I'm not sure I understand what you're trying to do. Are you trying to hack into this controller board to add extra toslink inputs?

    Hi Don,

    Indeed, I'm trying to extend the functionality of the board. But it also seems to be possible to create a "shell"  before I enter the board.   My Panasonic DVD-player, AppleTV, Apple media server  and Cyrrus high-end CD / SACD player all have a TOSLINK  digital output. I think it's better to use these, then their analog RCA output and converting Analog to Digital on the TI board. I think only my vinyl record player and the radio tuner  shall use  the Analog/Digital  converter of the TI Board. Of course it is possible to use an external TOSLINK splitter, but these are rather primitive. And after all, I'm trying to integrate the maintenance of all my devices into one (1) control-unit (maybe it's possible to interconnect and integrate the three corresponding HDMI-resources too).

    p.s. I've ordered the TAS5631DKD2EVM - TAS5631DKD2 Evaluation Module to find out the possibilities.

    Hi, Fritz,

    Sounds like a fun project!

    It might be easier to make a new PCB rather than trying to hack up the INPUT USB Board.

    Hi Don,

    Seeing the board I received yesterday, I think you are certainly right ! So I think I'll better work on a "shell".  It will take some time to understand the working of the board. It's a nice job for the christmas vacations. Meanwhile, if you have some information / threads how to address three TOSlink inputs to the single input of the board, I'll be glad to hear that.
