Hello

I have a PCM5102-EVM module and would like to know if I can replace the PCM5102 chip with PCM5142? If yes would I need a new firmware?

    Hi, Subbu,

    Yes, you can replace it, the board was designed to be compatible with those two ICs (and PCM512x as well).

    You don't need to change the firmware, but you will need the PurePath Studios GUI. You can find a request in the PCM5142 EVM Product Folder. Here is the link.

    You have to be approved for download. Once you're approved, make sure you get the Home version. You'll also need to use the CodecControl s/w (which I assume you already have) to run it.
